Cosmetic tattoos are generally safe, performed by our certified and experienced staff who have successfully provided this service to many clients. However, certain medical conditions and circumstances can increase the risk of complications:
Medical Conditions: Individuals with bleeding disorders, diabetes, or those taking blood-thinning medications should consult their doctor before proceeding. Temporary discontinuation of blood thinners may be necessary, pending medical advice.
Recent Procedures: If you have recently received Botox, fillers, or chemical peels, it is advisable to wait at least 4 weeks before getting a cosmetic tattoo.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: We recommend against cosmetic tattoos for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Skin Conditions: Those with a history of keloids or hypertrophic scarring, viral infections, ongoing chemotherapy, or significant skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema, or psoriasis near the treatment area should avoid this procedure.
Sun Exposure: Avoid cosmetic tattoos on recently tanned skin.
Allergies: It is crucial to disclose any allergies to numbing creams or pigments, as these can affect the safety of the procedure.
If you are unsure about your suitability for permanent makeup, consulting with your doctor is the best course of action. This will help ensure that cosmetic tattoos are a safe option for you.

We do not offer Microblading at our salon. We are committed to providing natural-looking results and procedures that are safe and gentle on your skin. Instead, we specialise in Hairstroke and Feathering techniques, which are advanced methods designed to create more realistic hair-like strokes that blend seamlessly with your existing eyebrows.
Benefits of Hairstroke and Feathering over Microblading:
Less Invasive: Unlike Microblading, which involves making cuts into the skin, our techniques are less invasive, reducing the risk of scarring and promoting a quicker healing process.
Longer Lasting Results: Hairstroke and Feathering techniques use a method that typically has greater longevity, maintaining a natural appearance longer without frequent touch-ups.
Enhanced Natural Appearance: Both techniques are finely tuned to match your natural brow colour and hair growth pattern, resulting in a more subtle and refined look that enhances your facial features without appearing overly done.
Suitable for Sensitive Skin: Our methods are ideal for clients with sensitive skin or those who are hesitant about the more intensive process of Microblading.
By choosing Hairstroke or Feathering, you’re opting for a sophisticated approach to eyebrow enhancement that focuses on beauty, precision, and the health of your skin.

Urban Beauty has three types of brow tattoo styles, namely hairstroke, feather, powder, or hybrid.
Hairstroke brow tattoo involve tattooing precise, hair-like strokes which mimic the appearance of real brow hairs. This is perfect for people who have sparse or uneven brows, and creates a soft and defined look that enhances your natural features.
Feather brow tattoo is similar to hairstroke but creates an even finer, softer appeace for a more subtle and natural enhancement to the brow. This technique mimics delicate, feathery hairs, making it ideal for clients with sparse brows or those looking for a more lightweight, airy look. It is especially suited to blending seamlessly with existing brow hair for a soft and balanced finish.
Powder brows are perfect for a soft and polished look. Powder brows create a natural gradient effect from the start of the brow and darkening towards the tail of the brow, with a make-up like finish. Long lasting and smudge proof, they're ideal for those seeking defined yet natural looking brows.
Hybrid brows combine hairstrokes and shading to create a look with added depth and definition. Ideal for those wanting balanced, polished finish that is both bold and natural.

Your brow tattoo will go through a few stages of healing.
Initial Redness and Swelling (First 24 Hours): Right after the procedure, it’s common to experience some redness and swelling. This is your skin’s natural response to the tattooing process.
Scabbing Phase (Days 1-7): Within the first week, your brows will start to scab. This is crucial for the healing process, as the scabs protect the area while the skin underneath begins to heal. It’s important not to pick at the scabs to prevent loss of pigment and scarring.
Ghosting Phase (Days 8-14): After the scabs fall off, you might notice that the tattooed area looks lighter than expected. This is known as the "ghost phase" and occurs as the deeper layers of skin continue to heal and the true colour of the pigment begins to emerge.
Colour Settling (Weeks 2-6): Over the next few weeks, the pigment stabilises within the skin, and the colour becomes more defined. This period allows for the true shade and detail of the brow tattoo to fully develop.
Healing Completion and Touch-Up (Week 6-8): By this time, your brows should be mostly healed. A follow-up appointment is usually necessary to make any adjustments and fill in areas where pigment may not have taken as well. This session ensures your brows are even and match your desired outcome.

All PMU are not permanent and will gradually fade away as the treatments only reach the skin layer that is affected by cell turnover and the PMU pigments are designed to break down over time, unlike traditional tattoo ink. Generally, brow tattoos can last 12-24 months. Some individuals will see fading occur faster, while for others it may last even longer. This all depends on many factors including skin type, aftercare, body chemistry, and lifestyle.
If your tattoo starts to fade, feel free to book in a touch up appointment with us to refresh the tattoo and keep you feeling and looking your best.

Lip blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic technique that subtly enhances the colour and shape of the lips by depositing coloured pigment into the skin. This method provides a soft colour that looks like a tint or a washed lip colour, helping to define the lips' borders, add fullness, and even out tone.
Lip blush is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance their lips' natural tone and shape with a long-lasting solution that requires minimal upkeep.
-
Corrective lip blush is targeted to those have uneven lip colour. This treatment is focused on neutralising and counteracting the darker tones in the lips for a more even, natural looking lip colour that matches your desired shade.

Here’s a breakdown of what to expect during the recovery period:
Immediate After Effects
Swelling and Tenderness: Immediately after the procedure, your lips may be swollen and tender. This is normal and usually subsides within a couple of days.
Vivid Colour: The color of your lips will appear significantly darker and more intense immediately following the procedure. This is temporary, as the color will soften as your lips heal.
Healing Stages
Day 1-3: Swelling starts to decrease, and lips begin to feel dry and tight. It's important to keep them moisturised with a lip balm.
Day 4-7: You may experience flaking and peeling as the outer layer of colour sheds. Avoid picking or pulling at the flakes to prevent pigment loss and scarring.
Week 2: The true color begins to settle in, appearing more natural and softer than immediately post-procedure. The lips should feel mostly healed, though full settling of the pigment occurs over several weeks.
Care Tips
Moisturisation: It is extremely important to keep your lips moisturised with a lip balm to aid healing and prevent dryness.
Avoid Certain Substances: During the first week, avoid salty, spicy foods and acidic drinks that can irritate the healing skin. Also, stay away from heavy exercise that promotes excessive sweating.
Sun Protection: Once healed, apply SPF to your lips as part of your daily routine to protect the colour from fading due to sun exposure.
Follow-Up Care: Book a follow-up appointment to touch up any areas where pigment may not have taken evenly or to adjust the colour and shape after healing.

Scalp shading is a cosmetic technique that enhances the appearance of fuller hair by depositing pigment into the top layer of the scalp using a specialised machine and pigments designed specifically for this purpose. Unlike scalp micropigmentation (SMP), which tattoos individual dots to mimic hair follicles for those with significant balding, scalp shading deposits tiny dots in layers to create a softer, fuller look without damaging the hair follicles. This procedure is especially suitable for individuals with thin hair or sparse areas.
The entire process, including consultation, numbing, and the procedure itself, typically takes about 2 hours, though this can vary based on individual needs. For best results, we generally recommend at least two sessions spaced 3-4 weeks apart. Some individuals, particularly those with oily scalps or active lifestyles that involve frequent sweating, may require additional sessions.
The durability of scalp shading can last 12-24 months and is influenced by several factors including aftercare, lifestyle, body metabolism, skin type, medications, and the hair products used. If you're considering this treatment and wondering if it's right for you, please don't hesitate to contact us for more information.
